Haliburton United Church Financials Update: As the pandemic continues and prices rise, the changes are having a greater impact on HUC income. While the opening balance on January 1 was $15,695.25, the closing balance on April 30 was $2,335.56. HUC monthly operating expenses are currently averaging just over $12,000, having increased along with inflation and costs for items such as fuel. Please prayerfully consider whether you may be able to help. For more information visit the Giving page on the HUC website.

Today: Communion Services – Pentecost Sunday. Those attending online are invited to join us by having bread and juice or wine on hand.

Until June 19: Formula for Success baby bottle campaign to raise funds for the Pregnancy Care & Family Support Centre. This year’s goal is 35% of the charity’s annual budget. Bottles for donations are available from the churches or you can donate by cheque or online. Return your bottle to the church before Father’s Day or when it is full. Tax receipts are issued. August 15 to 19: Monarch Bible Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at Haliburton United Church. Registration is now open. For details call 705-887-3625 or visit monarchbiblecamp.com.

Volunteer drivers are needed for the Wheels of Hope program for cancer patients travelling to and from treatments. Contact the Canadian Cancer Society at cancervolunteer.ca or 1-888-939-3333.

Sundays: Regular services at all churches and online via livestream on YouTube at 11:15 a.m.

Monthly mission for June for Haliburton UC: Places for People. For details and to learn how to donate, visit the Monthly Missions page on the HUC website.

Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.: Minds in Motion at Haliburton UC. An Alzheimer’s Society program designed to provide physical activity and mental and social stimulation. $30/couple for 8 weeks. Call Jennifer at 705-748-5131 x225.

Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.: Online Scripture Study. This ecumenical study group meets using the Haliburton UC Zoom feed. There is no homework nor study preparation. Please contact Jean Schlicklin Tyler by phone at 705-457-2214 or email Jean for the meeting link.

Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Women to Women Bible Study. Based through Haliburton UC, participants share their concerns, pray and study the Word using a simple study method. Currently meetings are held on Zoom. New participants are welcome, whether on or off web camera or by phone, even just to listen in. For more information email Lisa.
