All HPC churches are open for Sunday services at their usual times. Online services continue at 11:15 a.m.
Events and Notices
Sunday, November 28: First Sunday in Advent Communion Services. Due to pandemic constraints, the churches will celebrate individually at their usual service times. Online viewers are invited to participate at 11:15 a.m. by having bread and juice or wine on hand.
Tuesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Minds in Motion at Haliburton UC. This Alzheimer Society program is designed for those with any form of memory loss and their care partners to enjoy guided physical activity and mental stimulation and to create new friendships. All are welcome. The eight-week program is $30 per couple. For details and to register call Jennifer at 705-748-5131 or email Jennifer.
Wednesdays from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Women to Women Bible Study. Based through Haliburton UC, participants share their lives and concerns, pray together and study the Word using a simple study method. Currently meetings are held via Zoom. There’s no need to be on screen or to participate in discussions, and there is no homework. New participants are welcome. For more information email Lisa.
Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.: Online Scripture Study. This independent study group meets using the Haliburton UC Zoom feed. Participants pray with the reading for the day. There is no homework or preparation of the Sunday lectionary reading. It is an opportunity to dig deeper into the Bible, learning and sharing tools of Scripture study. Haliburton UC’s mission for November is Mercy Ships. For details about this organization, visit the HUC website’s Monthly Missions page. If you’d like to donate to this mission, please do so by cheque or electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the church with Monthly Mission marked on your offering envelope or in the EFT “Message” box. Support for online music lessons by Youth Unlimited: YU helps youths learn to play a new instrument and learn the message of Jesus. Each youth involved is currently paying half of the $300 cost for 10 lessons. Please consider donating $150 or providing a bursary of the full cost for a youth who does not have the means.
