Lochlin UC and Haliburton UC are open for Sunday services at their usual times of 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. respectively. Ingoldsby UC remains closed for now.
NOTE: On August 22 and 29, Harry will be on vacation. Lochlin UC will have guest ministers for the regular 10 a.m. in-church services. Haliburton UC will be closed, by decision of the church Elders. Online services will continue at 11:15 a.m. with new “premieres” (YouTube’s label for prerecorded videos); online access opens 15 minutes early. Haliburton UC will reopen on September 5 for regular 11:15 a.m. in-church services.
Events and Notices
Saturday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m.: Highlands Summer Festival presents Rock the Night Away, a free outdoor concert featuring ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll by Leisa Way and the Wayward Wind Band at the Head Lake Rotary Park Bandshell in Haliburton. TICKETS ARE REQUIRED under pandemic protocols in order to track attendance, which is limited to 186. Protocols will also be followed for seating spacing and more. Masks are required. Please bring your own chairs or blankets. Refreshments are available for purchase, but you are encouraged to bring your own beverages and snacks. Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.: Minds in Motion online via Zoom. *NOTE*: the program will move back to Haliburton UC on Tuesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. beginning on September 7. The eight-week program is $30 per couple. This Alzheimer Society program is designed for those with any form of memory loss and their care partners to enjoy guided physical activity, mental stimulation and the chance to create new friendships with others living with similar experiences. All are welcome to join in the fun; there is no diagnosis needed. For details and to register call Jennifer at 705-748-5131 or email Jennifer.
Haliburton UC’s monthly mission for August is Child Evangelism Fellowship. If you’d like to donate to this mission, please do so by cheque or electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the church with Monthly Mission marked on your offering envelope or in the EFT “Message” box. Support for online music lessons by Youth Unlimited: YU helps youths learn to play a new instrument and learn the message of Jesus. Each youth involved is currently paying half of the $300 cost for 10 lessons. Please consider donating $150 or providing a bursary of the full cost for a youth who does not have the means.
