Please join us on Sunday December 1st for a joint service for the Pastoral Charge at Haliburton United Church at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the 1^st Sunday of Advent.  Communion will be served.  This will be an opportunity for all 3 churches to worship together and get to know one another a little better. Lunch will be served following the service.

Join us Wednesday, December 11, 7:30 at Lochlin Church for our annual Old Fashioned Christmas Carol Sing Along. Music by Rev. Harry, John Menzies, and “friends”. Hot cider and Christmas goodies following. Donations for Food Banks gratefully accepted. Everyone welcome!

The Highlands Festival Singers presents “We Need A Little Christmas”, directed by Melissa Stephens, Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3:00 pm; Tuesday, December 3 at 7:30 pm at Haliburton United Church. Tickets are $15.00 general admission; available from choir members, Cranberry Cottage and Minden Pharmasave. For tickets or information call 705 457 4916.

Please join us “Christmas in the Highlands” formerly Christmas in Carnarvon to be held at Highland Hills UC (a.k.a. Minden UC) Wednesday Dec 4th 2 – 4 pm for a humourous look at Christmas. They would like your group to bring skit or story! If you wish, please bring a donation for the Food Bank.

Tinsel and Tears – a “Blue Christmas” service for those experiencing grief and sorrow during the approach to Christmas, Sunday December 8th, 2-4 pm at Haliburton UC in the Fellowship Room. This service is open to everyone. It is being prepared by representatives from various Christian denominations. There will be prayer, music and reflections followed by refreshments. Haliburton UC

Family Christmas Service / White Gift Sunday Dec 8th. Please bring unwrapped toys or other items for tweens and teens, non-perishable food items or even money for the Haliburton 4Cs to help with their Christmas hampers. The “white gift” tradition began in 1903 when a small Methodist congregation gave white-covered gifts to people in need. The gifts were wrapped to ensure anonymity and so that they could be appreciated equally. Today we’re asked to leave items unwrapped to help 4Cs volunteers distribute them appropriately.

Stewardship and Mission Offering: The extra monthly Mission for December is Haliburton 4Cs. We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission. Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer. Information will be posted as it becomes available.

To welcome children to our regular Sunday family worship we are providing children’s pew bags containing stories and activities to enjoy during the regular service time. These are available in the foyer for children and/or parents to choose from. Each bag also includes a gift book for you to take home. Please return your bag to the basket as you leave. Your presence is a blessing to us.

Prayer List: A few copies of the prayer list will be printed and put on the black table / desk in foyer for anyone who wishes to take it home to pray over. The copies will be there on Sunday only.

For a time of study, prayer and fellowship, please join us:

• Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the library 10 – 11:30 a.m.
• Fridays: Women to Women Bible Study in the library from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Fridays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!
