Sunday, January 28: Haliburton United Church Annual General Meeting and Pot Luck Lunch following the 11:15 a.m. contemporary service. Those unable to attend the meeting in person can attend via Zoom (video or phone). Zoom access opens at 12:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 1 p.m. For the Zoom video link or phone numbers, click here to go to the AGM page on the HUC website.

Saturday, February 3: Lift Your Spirits! Concert and Bake Sale. Enjoy an afternoon of music for all ages with local pianist, singer and guitarist Drew Allen from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Highland Hills United Church, 21 Newcastle Street in Minden. Come early to buy homemade baked treats. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Family tickets are available for $50. Cash sales at the church office – call ahead to 705-286-1470. Light refreshments will be served. All proceeds will support the installation of a lift at the church.

Tuesday, February 20: HPC Congregational Annual General Meeting and Official Board Meeting. The AGM begins at 2:00 p.m. at Haliburton United Church and is followed by the Official Board meeting. Those unable to attend a meeting in person can attend via Zoom (video or phone). Zoom access opens at 1:45 p.m. Details will be emailed or call the office at at 705-457-1891 during regular business hours.

Current Events and Notices

Monthly mission for January for Haliburton UC: Food for Kids. For details and to learn how to donate, visit the Monthly Missions page on the HUC website. The mission for February is Effect Hope.

Sundays: Regular services at all churches and online via live stream on YouTube at 11:15 a.m.

Tuesdays: Minds in Motion from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Haliburton UC. TThis Alzheimer’s Society program is designed to provide physical activity and mental and social stimulation. $30/couple for 8 weeks. Call Jennifer at 705-748-5131 x225.

Tuesdays: The Ecumenical Bible Study group meets from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Zoom using the simple Ignacious method of reading and praying with the scripture. If you would be interested in joining the group online, let Jean Tyler know by calling 705-457-2214.

Wednesdays: Women to Women Bible Study. The group meets online at 3:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month via Zoom. For more information email Lisa.

Sunday School: A selection of lessons and interactive materials is available for download on the Sunday School page for use at home to encourage kids in their faith. Classes are on hiatus.
