Bells of Peace 1918 – 2018 – A remembrance of those who served in the First World War. We will be ringing our church bell 100 times on Nov 11th at dusk in remembrance of the veterans of WWI. Rene Benoit has volunteered to ring the bell. Are there any in our HUC congregation who might be descendants of a WWI veteran and who might be interested in helping to ring the bell or anyone who may have an interest in this? The event has been organized by the Legion and is going to take place across Canada.

Dear friends, once again our Haliburton United family will participate in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. The boxes are now available from the Sunday School team. Here is an outline that might help:

  1. Choose and assemble a box and decide on boy or girl and age range (2-4/5-9/ 10-14)
  2. Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll/soccer ball /stuffed animal
  3. Fill remainder of box with a mixture of hygiene items, school supplies, craft activities, small toys, warm clothing. No candy/toothpaste/used or breakable items/items that could freeze, melt, leak/scary or harmful toys
  4. Pray for the child who will receive your gift. Add a personal note and/or photo
  5. Include $10 (cheque or cash) in envelope provided
  6. Return gift box to Haliburton United by Sunday November 11th for Church blessing

Each box is an expression of hope, joy, and love. Please be part of the team!! – Janice Benoit, HUC Sunday School Coordinator
